Privacy
We store as little as we can, for as short a time as we can. No cookies, no advertising, no tracking of you or your guests.
Who we are
thisisourwedding.co.uk is run by the operator of thisisourwedding.co.uk, the data controller under UK GDPR. Contact: hello@thisisourwedding.co.uk.
What we store, why and for how long
- Your link name, destination address, email address, plan and (if you give it) wedding date. Needed to run the link, send your receipt and confirmation, and let you manage it (contract). Kept while the link is active, then 90 days after it ends so nobody can take your name straight away, then deleted.
- Payment. Stripe processes your payment; we never see your card details. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires (see Stripe's privacy policy). We keep the Stripe payment reference with your link.
- Sign-in links. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of each one-time sign-in link, for 30 minutes.
- Abuse reports. Delivered straight to our private alert inbox and chat channel, and not stored by the website. If you give your email, we use it only to reply.
- Technical logs and counts. To keep the service working and stop abuse (legitimate interests), we log each request without names or email addresses (link names appear only in scrambled form) and keep anonymous counts, such as how many redirects happened. Logs are kept for 7 days and counts for 3 months. Your guests' IP addresses are used briefly for rate limiting and are not stored.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare (hosting, storage and email sending), Stripe (payments), and Google Web Risk (we send it the destination address, not personal data, to check it is safe). Some of these may process data outside the UK under approved safeguards.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies. Stripe's checkout page, which is a separate site, uses its own cookies to process payment safely.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correction or deletion (deleting it ends your link), or object to processing, by emailing hello@thisisourwedding.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
