Wix gives you a wedding website at yourname.wixsite.com/ followed by your site name. Here's how to get it onto your invitations in a form guests can type, and why a link you control helps if anything changes.
Free Wix addresses have two parts to type
A free Wix address has your account prefix, wixsite.com and then your site name, so guests have two names and a full stop to get right. A custom domain needs a paid Wix plan. A short link gives you a short address to print on any plan.
Password-protected sites
Wix can password-protect a site from the editor's settings, though Wix says this isn't available to every account. If you use it, guests following your short link see Wix's password screen first.
A one-click step for the first 72 hours
Wix hosts all kinds of sites, not only weddings, so for the first 72 hours after you set up or change your link, guests see a short "you're leaving" page with a button to continue. After that the link goes straight through. Set your link up a few days before you send anything out.
Setting it up
- Copy your Wix website address, and check it opens in a private browser window.
- On our home page, choose your short link, such as thisisourwedding.co.uk/samandalex, and paste your Wix address into "Where it should go".
- Pay £2.99 a month, monthly or up front. Your link and its QR code are ready straight away.
- Print the link and the SVG QR code on your stationery. Test it from a printed proof.
