A short link and QR code for your wedding website on Joy

Joy gives you a wedding website at withjoy.com/ followed by the name you chose. Here's how to get it onto your invitations in a form guests can type, and why a link you control helps if anything changes.

Changing your Joy address breaks the old one

Joy lets you change your website address in Event Settings, but anyone using the old address gets an error page afterwards. If that address is already printed, those guests are stuck. A short link avoids this: you point it at the new address and the printed cards keep working.

Joy's custom domains forward, they don't replace

Joy sells custom domains as an add-on, but they forward to your Joy page, so guests still end up on a withjoy.com address. A short link from us works the same way, for a monthly price, and you can point it anywhere, including away from Joy if you move.

Private Joy sites

If you've set your Joy site to Private, guests who follow your short link see Joy's password page first, as they would with any link. Print the password on the card or send it separately.

Where to find your Joy address

It's the Joy Event URL at the top of Event Settings. Copy it from there into the "Where it should go" box when you set up your link.

Setting it up

  1. Copy your Joy website address, and check it opens in a private browser window.
  2. On our home page, choose your short link, such as thisisourwedding.co.uk/samandalex, and paste your Joy address into "Where it should go".
  3. Pay £2.99 a month, monthly or up front. Your link and its QR code are ready straight away.
  4. Print the link and the SVG QR code on your stationery. Links to Joy go straight through for guests.
